Yes, standard Full-Value Protection insurance, which reflects the estimated monetary value of your shipment, will be issued to you for your US domestic household goods move by Sirva's preferred mover or insurance company, or through your employer. In any of these scenarios, your household goods mover will provide you with all the necessary insurance documentation and will outline the coverage criteria as it pertains to your move. You have the option to declare a higher value than the basic amount included in our Full-Value Protection option for an additional charge. You can increase your valuation amount at any time before your goods are loaded onto the truck.
Your insurance coverage will take effect from the moment movers enter your home to begin packing your belongings up to and including final delivery to your new residence or a self-storage facility.
At the time of final delivery, your mover will ask you to inspect all items in your shipment. If you should find that there is damage, destruction, or loss while your goods were in transit, your household goods mover will provide you with the appropriate paperwork to submit a claim. Our goal is to move your family’s personal belongings from your current home to your new home as quickly and carefully as possible and to resolve any potential claims within a timely fashion.
